“Open up the doors – to as many people as care to gain access to it, at whatever moments in their lives, however frequently they choose to knock upon this or that learning door. The path to open up doors of learning to as many as people who care to gain access to it is paved by e-Learning.”
Among the themes that are currently central in Information and Communication Technology (ICT), e-Learning occupies a special place. researchers and institutions with long standing contributions to distance education have woken up to e-Learning’s untapped potentials. To utilize the e-Learning to its full potential it is paramount that the results garnered by all the players in the field of e-Learning are shared. This will provide a view from a new dimension covering not only the achievements but also the gaps prevalent in implementation of e-Learning concepts. The need of hour is the platform for interchange of ideas and experiences so that a new perspective on e-Learning concepts, implementations and technologies can be gained, leading to full utilization of e-Learning’s potentials.
Recognizing this, C-DAC along with Ministry of Communications & Information Technology had organized a two-day National Seminar ELELTECH INDIA 2005 to provide a common platform for sharing the experiences of experts working in this area and also to evolve future strategies. This Seminar was partcipated by R&D, industry, academic community and policy makers from the State and Central Government agencies. In short, this seminar attracted interest of all those who were working towards utilizing e-Learning to its full potential.
